Beyond Stonehenge

I have to confess, I'm an English woman with half her heart in Wales. It's a poetic landscape, with lofty mountains, bleak hills, dense wooded valleys and gentle rolling farmland. I'm a particular fan of the Welsh Castles, which is why they feature so much here. If you're into the history of the King Edward I, this is the country to see what his castle building could do. If you go to Harlech Castle and are feeling reasonably fit, don't miss the opportunity to walk down to the beach through the sand dunes. It's a real treasure, a mile of golden sand!
